Mrs. Fujiwara assists in the five day preschool program.
She and her husband Joel have been married for more than 30 year and have been blessed with four children. They recently welcomed the birth of their first grandchild. Joel is a retired Coast Guard Officer.
“We have loved living here and raising our children in this beautiful setting. Spending time together as a family and involvement with our church family has been important to us. I have been involved with facilitating Sunday School classes, music ministry as a soloist and have directed a young women’s choir for several years. I enjoy hiking and exercising, as well as teaching occasional voice lessons and Lego Robotics classes,” said Donna about her interests.
Her favorite verse is Romans 8:28. “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” This verse has always encouraged her through difficult times.
“In this life, we face many challenges and trials but knowing that God always has our best in mind because of His unfathomable love for us, and that these times are used for our good and His Glory, points me onward and upward,” she explained.
Donna graduated from the University of Washington with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees. She attended the American Institute of Music in Graz, Austria for a summer and had further graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. She has homeschooled her four children and taught classes at the Meridian Parent Partnership program.
“Teaching there for the past five years has been wonderful. To work with kids and see them enjoy learning has been very rewarding. What a blessing to be assisting with the BCS preschool. To enter into their world and hear them express with fresh eyes all that they experience is pure joy,” Donna said about her teaching experience and position at BCS.
