Alison Sokol

I  was born and raised in Lynden and I love it here!  After graduating high school (alas, I was a Lion), I went to Central Washington University where I got my degree in Elementary Education and a minor in music.  It was at CWU that I met my husband, Nick.  We got married in 2011 and recently had a baby girl, Ellie.

I consider myself musically omnivorous, with influences all across the board.  I especially enjoy jazz, bluegrass, musicals, and world music.  I love bringing the wonderful wide world of music to my classroom.  The ability to share ideas and worship through music with one another is one of the greatest gifts God has given us.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy experiencing the great outdoors through hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and walking along the beautiful coast.  When I’m not outside, I enjoy attempting craftiness, reading an enticing book, and listening to my husband play music.

Alison is joining the BCS staff from Evergreen in 2019.
