Greg Springs - 3rd Grade
Mr. Springs and his wife Carol live in Anacortes, where they enjoy kayaking and hiking.
Greg has a passion for prayer and teaching the Lord's word to children both in the classroom and in Chapel. He has one grandchild, and shares her picture regularly with staff and students. One day per week after school, Mr. Springs shares his love for chess with students of all ages. You can tell chess club is in session, by the smell of microwave popcorn wafting down the hallways. His appreciation for good food, especially chocolate, and his generous nature, are appreciated by staff when he brings treats of Oreos, candy and coffee to the office.
He attended Oral Roberts University, majoring in Elementary Education, and graduated in 1971. He had 20 years of classroom teaching at the intermediate level (4th, 5th, 6th). After achieving his Master of Education Degree (emphasis in Remedial Reading) and special certification in Reading Recovery, he filled the position of Title I Reading Specialist for 10 years before retiring from the public school system. He came to BCS in 2003.
